David Bandy
president

David Bandy founded Bandy Constructors on a shoestring in 1989, and has built one of the most respected teams in Central and South Texas.

With a $2,500 deposit and a vision of creating a more client friendly construction company, David Bandy founded Bandy Constructors in 1989. Since then, he has built one of the most respected teams in Central and South Texas. As the company’s president, David still takes an active role in the success of every project. He directs the activities of Bandy’s management team and is always available to address the most pressing needs of the clients.

Before taking on Bandy Constructors’ inaugural project – a residential kitchen expansion in Austin – David worked on more than $67 million in public and institutional projects as a project engineer, project superintendent, and project manager for Warrior Construction from 1983 to 1989. During his time with Warrior, David served clients such as the State of Texas, Texas State University (formerly Southwest Texas State University), and the University of Texas at Austin. His projects included the State Capitol Senate Renovations after the fire in 1983, the William B. Travis State Office Building, Harris Dining Hall and Blanco Dormitory at Texas State, and renovations to the Economics and E.P. Schoch Buildings on the University of Texas at Austin campus.

David earned a Bachelor of Science degree in architectural engineering from the University of Texas at Austin. He has served on the board of directors and as chairman of the Apprenticeship Committee of the Central Texas Chapter of Associated Builders and Contractors. He has been active in Rotary Youth Exchange in central Texas and enjoys bow hunting, fishing, and woodworking.
